Game Preview 3: Rolling Quest

Told you that we would be working on Rolling Quest. This post was originally gonna be posted as a devlog on the game's itch.io page, but we cancelled that in favour of posting this post onto our main 9Studio blog.

Today's game: Rolling Quest!

Download the game!

Aw yeah, you knew it was coming back. And it came back! Today we'll be talking about the latest update for Rolling Quest. After that we'll give you the download link. Now, what's new? Well, what you see on screen by the top: the new 2nd level! This level will test your skills in the form of seeing how good you are at controlling the marble. The update doesn't add anything else, though: more content will be coming in 0.3, and more content in 0.3 there will be! But for now, that's it, and we'll see you guys tommorow: bye!

Game Preview 2: Collect a Plushy!

Note: If you haven't read them, go check out our other Game Previews! The first one will give you a sense of what's gonna happen in this series.

Above image shows an in development experience. We have no guarantee that this will be the final style. Any information found in this post is unfinished, as in the contents of this post and announcements in this post can change at any time during the development process of this experience.

Today's game: Collect a Plushy!

You know Pokémon? Yeah, you know what I mean. We all love the catch-em-all experience and the battles, but isn't it a little cost-inefficient? Pokémon Scarlet and Violet each cost $79.99 CAD or $80 CAD. The Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Double Pack costs $159.99 CAD or $160 CAD. That's DOUBLE the price of both games. And what for? To catch digital pets and send them into battle. Twice. There IS Pokémon GO on the App Store and the Google Play Store and it's free, but, especially in Winter or when there's lots of snow, I don't think people will enjoy playing a game that requires you to go outside just to do the same thing you can pay for for $80 CAD or $160 CAD at your house. There's also Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, but let's be real, all of these basically cost the same as Scarlet and Violet. That's where we come in!

Imagine your average Pokémon experience, but instead of playing it on your console, you play it on ANY device that has a web browser and a way to store text notes. Yes, that does mean you could almost play this on your Nintendo 3DS, or how I prefer playing them... a New Nintendo 2DS XL. I did bother writing that on a blog post and saying it in my mind. Anyways, point is the idea is that you surf around social media and also the internet and (if posted by us) you could find a link to a website wherein you can get a plushy. It'll have 7 stats and a couple of attacks. You will add it to a file stored on your computer. It can have any name, but it must be in TXT (Windows Notepad), RTF (Microsoft WordPad), MD (Markdown, any system) or PDF (Any system) format. Be careful, once you find a plushy but you already have the same plushy in your plushy list, if you choose to keep the new plushy the old plushy must be removed from your list.

Every once in a while, we'll be hosting a Plushy Tournament! You will be able to sign up by commenting on the blog post that announces the next Plushy Tournament. Therefore, this blog post does not count. In the Plushy Tournaments, you send one of your plushies in battle against a random opponent. The two of you will use the Comments section of the blog post that will be released right after the announcement post to battle. The way it will work is one of the players will post a comment and say in the comment the Blogger username of the opponent. The two of you will use the attacks that the plushy you chose has provided. It'll be just like a Pokémon battle.

So that's all we got now. We'll post on the blog when Collect a Plushy! will be ready for release. Until then, be patient, and yes, the next Rolling Quest Game Preview is coming.

Game Preview 1: Rolling Quest

Hello and welcome!

Today marks our first ever Game Preview, where we give a preview of a game we're working on. Expect us to talk about stuff tied to the development of our game. We'll also give an image preview of the game, and, if possible, we'll give a download to the game!

This week's game: Rolling Quest!

Rolling Quest is a 2D maze-solving game where a red, unhappy marble stars as the player. Your goal? To complete every maze! The mazes have themes tied to them. There will be 10 themes in total, each in a completely different setting. The maze on screen is a space station level. In this theme, you climb down a space station, from top to bottom, before entering the next theme.

The game is built with the programming language Scratch, an easy-to-understand 2D programming language that supports pretty much everything that a standard 2D programming language supports. More specifically, Rolling Quest is made with the modded Scratch editor TurboWarp.

Here's what's gonna happen to 9Studio's blog

Today, we mark 2 sad moments in life.

  1. Plushs Blog has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Learn more...
  2. Our ripoff of Geometry Dash, created as a joke game for Android devices, can no longer be downloaded and also has been discontinued and is no longer supported. As we put: Hello, readers! Note that this page previously linked to a GitHub page which we have taken down. This game is no longer supported and will not be available for download. Taken from our post "BRAND NEW AWARD-WINNING GAME! PLAY FREE ON ANDROID OR SOMETHING! PLAY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Today is also the day that we start changing the 9Studio website. Ever since its creation on May 1 2023, it's had the same style. That was also 7 months ago! We've finally jazzed up the style of the blog, making it feel more classic. We made this in inspiration of blorph live, a 2005-2007 blog that's pretty nostalgic despite the fact that you can still open the blog and read the posts. Right now, we're changing, and probably by the end of the week, this blog will have been transformed... I'm excited, but are you?
